In Between Edward Hopper’s Liminal Spaces
Publication Design2025
Liminality, which refers to a state of transition or in-betweenness, is a concept present in many of Edward Hopper’s paintings—both literally and symbolically. It often gives his works a nostalgic, lonely, and slightly eerie quality. This book explores the liminal spaces portrayed in Hopper’s works through a curated selection of essays, poems, and interviews discussing the topic. Columns and gate folds were utilized to further convey and reinforce the theme.
